The UNTH Foundation is an independent, non-profit, and apolitical organization established in
Nigeria in December 2021 and incorporated in 2023 as a 501(c)(3) charity organization in the United States. We
support the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Enugu, Nigeria, through comprehensive
healthcare initiatives.
At the UNTH Foundation, we believe that healthcare is not just a service, it’s a promise. A promise to stand with the vulnerable, to uplift the underserved, and to build a future where no one is denied care because of circumstance.

Our History
Established in December 2021, the UNTH Foundation emerged from a critical need to address the healthcare challenges facing the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital and its patients. Over 40% of patients at UNTH are medically indigent, unable to afford their hospital bills, which creates a cycle of delayed discharges, blocked bed availability, and compromised healthcare delivery.
Led by a distinguished Board of Trustees chaired by former Enugu State Governor, His Excellency Sullivan I. Chime CON, the Foundation brings together eminent Nigerians committed to driving transformative change in healthcare delivery.
