About the Campaign
UNTH Foundation Kids with Diabetes Campaign Enugu provides life‑saving care for children living with Type 1 Diabetes. These children require daily insulin, frequent blood glucose monitoring, and continuous medical support to stay healthy and avoid life‑threatening complications.
The Challenge
More than 90% of the children we care for come from families who cannot afford the essential supplies needed for survival. The monthly cost of insulin, testing strips, and consumables is far beyond their reach, placing them at constant risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and other severe complications.
What We Provide
Our unit delivers comprehensive, compassionate care that includes:
Clinical management and emergency care
Free or subsidized insulin and glucose‑monitoring supplies
Diabetes education for children and caregivers
Psychosocial and mental‑health support
School and community engagement
Outreach services for underserved communities
Ongoing monitoring, research, and advocacy
