Nourishing Lives: UNTH Foundation at the Indigenous Food Fair 2025
On October 18, 2025, the UNTH Foundation joined hands with the Foundation for the Awareness of Osteoporosis to celebrate culture, community, and care at the Indigenous Food Fair held at IMT Field, Independence Layout, Enugu.
With the theme “Bone Health: Say No to Fragile Bones,” the event was more than a showcase of traditional delicacies—it was a powerful platform for health advocacy and outreach.
Where Culture Meets Care
The fair featured a vibrant array of indigenous Nigerian dishes—Okpa, Abacha, Achicha, Egusi, Bole, and more—each rich in nutrients and deeply rooted in our heritage. But beyond the flavors, the event served a vital purpose: raising awareness about bone health and the importance of nutrition in preventing osteoporosis.
UNTH Foundation proudly participated by offering medical outreach services, engaging with attendees on chronic illness prevention, and sharing our mission to support indigent patients who face barriers to accessing healthcare.
Community Engagement That Matters
Our team connected with lots of attendees, providing health tips, screenings, and educational materials. We emphasized the role of diet, lifestyle, and early intervention in maintaining strong bones and overall wellness.
The response was overwhelming—people were eager to learn, share, and support. It was a reminder that health education thrives when rooted in community and culture.
