The University of Nigeria, Nsukka will host its 252nd Inaugural Lecture this Thursday, 17th September 2026. The lecturer is Prof. Theresa Ukamaka Nwagha, Professor of Haematology and Coagulation Medicine, and the first woman to head Haematology and Immunology at the College of Medicine.
Her topic, “The Balance of Blood Fluidity: From Bleeding to Clotting in Health and Disease,” looks at how blood stays fluid enough to circulate, yet clots fast enough to stop bleeding, and what happens when that balance breaks down. Robing starts at 12 noon, the procession to the UNN Business School Auditorium at 12:45 p.m., and the lecture itself begins at 1:00 p.m.
